With in-house Hold’em and even when you are playing at home with the boy’s, each player will get his or her turn to be dealer. This is commonly referred to as playing on the button with the deal rotating clock-wise. Since Texas Hold’em Poker online rose to fame, the House or Poker room usually takes on the role, but player’s still get to play on the button.
The dealer’s position does have a great effect on how the hand will be played. The position of the dealer also decides which player will post the big blind and small blind. It also decides who gets dealt to first and who will be betting first and last on the flop. After each hand the button will move clock-wise so everyone gets a turn at the dealer chair. Each hand is played with a single deck of 52 cards. Before each sequence is dealt, this referring to the pre-flop, the flop, fourth street and the river card, the dealer will always fold two cards (Burn Cards) as per the rules. |
